We broadcasted eight elite high school basketball games live through @Gatorade’s Twitter account. #TheDebut merged the best of social into the game itself, giving the reigns to fans watching at home. When fans tweeted, our hosts reacted live on-air. Fan tweets even directed the cameras.
The conversation online became the broadcast’s dialogue, so for the first time ever, fans did more than just watch the game — they became part of it. From branding to execution to handling live responses back to viewers, our team carried out an initiative that was truly a first in its game.
